Annoying Pidgin remove from buddy list bug still here

Something I neglected to check when I installed Pidgin 2.4.1 was to see if they fixed the utterly annoying bug that effects the buddy list. When you remove a buddy from Pidgin it appears they have been removed but in fact, when you restart pidgin they are still in the list. I know that this bug has existed for some time and that if you want to remove a person from the buddy list you can always boot up windows and run Yahoo messenger and remove ghosted yahoo contacts like this. But that’s not the issue….

Ah they joys of FOSS software. Always something to grumble about or find a workaround for… oh wait that also happens in proprietary software, plus they charge you money for it!
